Sue Bauman has over forty years’ service both as a professional and volunteer in the non-profit sector. Her passion for the advancement of the rights of women and children in legal and social systems was recognized and in 2012, a fund was established in her name to support prevention and intervention services for women and children who are victims of violence. In 2015, Sue was awarded a British Columbia Community Achievement Award for her work in the community. Sue was the Executive Director of Family Services of the North Shore from 2006 to 2012. In that capacity, she worked with Lions Gate Hospital Foundation to fundraise 8.5 million dollars to build the North Shore Hospice. As well, Family Services annually raised more than one third of its four-million-dollar budget. On her retirement from Family Services, Sue has continued to work in the not for profit world both as a consultant and staff member at Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS). Her projects have included a number of leadership activities including Strategic Planning, board governance and the restructuring of Human Resources and Quality Improvement. She is currently working on the development of a capital campaign for a new PCRS project.
Sue is an active volunteer and has been a member of a number of Board of Directors. She served six years as a BC Government appointment to the Vancouver Police Board and is currently a Board member of the Wolverton Family Foundation, which is dedicated to elevating the exposure of children across British Columbia to the arts. She also serves as President of the Bayshore Gardens Strata Council.
